Not Just a Mom... Fitness Routine



Hi everyone! I was supposed to post this yesterday but I having issues with my internet the night before and had my first day back to work yesterday, so I just completely forgot all about it. By the time I got home I was like 'oh no!' We are talking about our fitness routine's today. I would love to say I have a great fitness routine but I don't. Ever since I got pregnant with Ella I feel like my fitness and work out routine has gone out the window (and if I am being honest, even before then.) I really want to get back on top of it, but I honestly don't even know where to start. I look forward to reading some of your posts to see how you fit fitness into your life.



At one point in my life I did Kayla Itsines' BBG workouts and thought they were really effective. I think she has an app now but back in the day I just used to follow her guides. She has a really great online community and I found the BBG girls to be very encouraging. I noticed changes in my body right away when I was doing these workouts, so I might have to bring them back.

At another point in my life I was all about running! I am NOT a runner... I struggle to run even 1 mile without dying. When I really committed to running I made it to 9 miles straight when I hurt my knee and basically never ran again. I was so upset. I had been training for a half marathon and the knee injury came out of nowhere. I easily could have gotten back to it, but I got so discouraged. It takes a lot for me to stick with working out, it's just not who I am. I don't like the way I feel during and I don't get the same 'high' others talk about. Or maybe I do and I just don't appreciate it, haha!

As you may recall from my NY Resolution post, I really wanted to take my health and fitness a priority and of course, I did not follow through. My fitness routine right now is non-existent. I take multiple long walks with Ella everyday, but that doesn't get my heart rate up. Once in a while I will jog with Michael but that hasn't even happened consistently. I'm telling you guys I am bad at this, haha. I want to find a routine that I like and that I can stick to, so I came up with a little plan for myself and I am going to start this next week.

Mondays- 2 miles / 15 minute full body work out
Tuesdays- 30 minutes Zumba
Thursdays- 2 miles / 15 minute full body work out
Friday- 2 miles / 15 minutes full body work out
Sunday- 2 miles / 30 minutes Zumba

We will see how it goes... I am really going to need to keep myself accountable and make taking care of my health and fitness a priority.
