Weekend Recap

Hi friends, another Monday. Time is just flying on by isn't it? We have a brief weekend recap for you that is unfortunately cut short due to some technical difficulties. Or me not pressing save, one or or hte other... :P

Saturday-

We all enjoy a slow Saturday morning around here, and this one was no different. We had some coffee (milk for Ella) and toast while watching cartoons. I woke up with a crazy headache, which I have been getting lately, so I took a bit longer to wake up and get going. Michael was off so we got to enjoy the day with him, which is always nice considering he works most Saturdays. We made a quick trip to Costco to fill up on gas and then took Ella out for some morning play time at the park. We decided to go to the playground near our new house so Ella can get used to that setting.

She made herself quite at home. I think she'll adjust just fine!

The park near our new home is so great- there are two separate play structures, and a ton of swings. We ended up staying out until about lunch time.

I made a tofu, chicken, vegetable and noodle soup for a late lunch-early dinner. I had some leftover shredded chicken, tofu and a lot of produce I wanted to use and this was the easiest way to use it up. We all enjoyed it.

The rest of the afternoon was spent at home playing with Ella, doing laundry and random around-the-house stuff. Just as the sun was going down we decided to take Ella back out, as she was begging to go outside. It was so chilly but we took her to another park to burn some energy before bed.

Once it got super dark we decided to head home, but first we stopped at the grocery store so I could get some chocolate ice cream to make...

A chocolate milkshake! Despite the colder weather, I had been craving a homemade milkshake in the worst way and my craving was finally satisfied. It was everything I had dreamt of, hahaha!

Ella may have snuck a few bites of chocolate ice cream too.

Despite our lazy Saturday, I found myself feeling pretty exhausted and as soon as Ella was down for bed I was donezo. I curled up on the couch with a fuzzy blanket and some more soup while watching a cheesy Christmas movie... Christmas with a Prince. When I say cheesy I mean, CHEESY!

Sunday-

I realized when making my Sunday to-do list that I forgot to buy cling bleach gel which I use to clean both our toilet and our shower. Michael went out for a bike ride, so Ella and I headed to Target to buy that and some other cleaning supplies. Ella found this stuffed llama and didn't want to let it go. Finally she agreed to put him back, but I was really afraid of a full blown fit.

Target is right next to a park near our new home, so we stopped. There were no other kids, so we headed out to play.

Love our mommy-daughter mornings!

She's so strong!

We came home and may have eaten Mcdonalds for lunch! I feel like a bad Mom! But truthfully, I was craving it... I know how bad it is for you but I just gave into the craving. Oops!

While Ella napped I put together the little stocking I got for my niece. We will also get her a little gift to go with it- just not sure what yet. Stockings are my favorite part of Christmas shopping- I can't wait to show you Ella's!!!

I had a second half to this post all typed out and somehow it got lost.. Sigh. I am not prepared to type it all back out, so instead I will give you a brief recap. Sorry for the short post.

The rest of Sunday I cleaned the apartment, and we ate with Michael's parents for dinner. We haven't heard any updates on the house, but it's in the 'under writing' process so I assume the closing date is near, as long as all goes well. We will probably hear more this week and we will share all updates on Friday in our favorites post! See you there! xo

  1. Aw, don't feel like a bad mom a little junky food now and then isn't a big deal. As long as it's not a habit you are perfectly fine.

  2. Have you told the doctor about the headaches?

    1. I haven't yet, but I do think it's related to me not drinking enough water. Normally when I am at work, I keep water in my operatory. But with Covid, my n95 mask does not leave my face until my lunch break. So I often forget/don't drink water. I have been checking my BP and luckily it's still normal. Hoping more water helps and if not I will def ask her!
