Pregnancy Update

Hi friends! I wanted to do a quick little pregnancy update to let you all know where I'm at. It's still early and we're just about 2 months along. I have been having a lot of morning all day sickness and to be honest, I am just trying to get through each day. Feeling nauseous all day stinks, but it really stinks when you have a toddler that just wants to go-go-go and when you scrape dental plaque for a living. Gag. I feel so bad not having the same level of energy that I usually do to keep up with miss Ella, so I'm really hoping these symptoms go away once we hit the 2nd trimester. The positive news is that I'm not throwing up much, which I did when I was pregnant the first time. It makes me wonder if we're having a boy this time around... I can't wait to find out!

So far I don't really have any cravings, but when I'm not nauseous, I'm just hangry!!! It's the weirdest thing. I have been having lots of restless leg and insomnia at night which is preventing me from getting a good night's rest, but I am taking naps during the day when I can. I can't wait for this full-blown exhaustion to go away though. My eyes feel heavy just typing this. #timeforanap

I had my first doctor's appointment and it went so well. We are starting with a new doctor and at a new hospital, as the doctor who delivered Ella retired and the hospital she was born at closed their labor and delivery department. And I hate change! But luckily the midwife that worked with me was wonderful and made me feel very comfortable in my decision to go to that hospital. Fingers crossed the next few appointments are just as great.

We talk about the baby with Ella but she definitely has no clue what's going on yet. I honestly don't think she'll understand until the baby is physically here. She says hi to my tummy sometimes if I tell her to say hi to the baby and she will give the baby kisses. But other days when I ask her about the baby arriving and staying with us at our house, she gets upset and say "bu bye!" Honestly, who knows how she'll react when he or she is really here.. We're going to keep talking about it and reading to her about it so she'll be somewhat mentally prepared.

Now it's work time for me, but I would love to hear from you in the comments if you have any suggestions on how to alleviate some of the symptoms I'm feeling. I'm doing preggo pops and ginger candy, which helps a bit but I'm looking to try some other things too.

We will be back on Monday for the Not Just a Mom link up. This month we're sharing our latest crafts.
