Life Lately

Sooo we are officially on "lock down" for the next month! We were originally told that parks, hiking trails and trips to the beach were not only allowed but encouraged. That has now changed. Apparently due to the crowding at some of these locations across the state, they have decided to ban us from pretty much going anywhere. I 100% get it, but I am still super bummed about it. Going outside to the park and the beach was saving my sanity. Now, I'm not sure what we'll do.

The quality time together is something we won't get back, so I am trying to enjoy it. Although I am a homebody most of the time, as you've probably seen on my blog, I love going places... to the park, out to eat, Disneyland, the aquarium etc. We're trying to fill our days with meaningful activities, but it has not been easy so far, and it has been less than a week.

We are trying to get outside as much as possible. These pictures were before we were banned from parks, the beach etc. But as you can see, we always made sure there were not other people around us.

A little walk to the park near our house.

Walks through a scenic nature trail...

And a stop by the dog beach to watch owners playing with their dogs. Keeping our 6 foot distance of course... :)

A morning family 'hike.'

We took a morning walk to the beach to blow bubbles in the sand.

And had another amazing trip to the beach where Michael read his book by the waves, Ella ran around and played in the sand, and I felt normal for the first time in a week.

We had so much fun and it was so nice because of how large our beach is, we were nowhere near any other people.

Unfortunately, that was our last time visiting the beach for a while. Sad!

Indoor activities have looked like this...

We bought several board games on Amazon. No shopping in stores for a whileeee!

-The Game of Life
-Scrabble
-Yahtzee

Ella just likes playing with the pieces. But it has been to switch it up and play a game rather than watching endless Netflix.

Ella's been doing lots of crafts and coloring.... Stickers have been her fave!

The quarantine is driving us all a little sillllly.

I'm hoping to come up with some more fun indoor activities for Ella soon. Today is our first day of being banned from parks and the beach, so we're definitely feeling anxious and bored. I am just happy we're all healthy and safe; it's the uncertainty of when this will all go away is the worst part. I hope you are all okay and staying healthy and safe as well. We will get through this!!! Thanks for checking in. We will be back Thursday for our link up "what's in my..." to share what's in our storage closet.

  1. I can't believe you're banned from parks! Even like tiny neighborhood parks? I mean there are definitely more people out than before because there's nowhere else to go but outside, but wow.

    1. It's so depressing... Apparently they saw the forecast for this weekend and saw that it was going to be really nice, and were afraid of people packing in the beaches and parks... I totally get banning people from the playgrounds and even the beach if it's too crowded... but the hiking trails??? I am soo bummed. Trying to stay busy going for walks around the block and we went for a jog this morning.

Hope you are all doing well, staying safe/healthy and keeping busy!

  2. I am a homebody most of the time too. I think is being told that I can't go anywhere that makes me want to go somewhere, anywhere. I don't do well with being told what to do.
